whats the best thing to clean engine bearings

Hi people I have a novarossi 35 plus 21 engine I haven't used it many times but I've noticed the rear engine bearing looks as if its rusty and I don't know why does anyone have any idea how I can resove these problems or what products I can use to clean them.

cheers

usually, some rust appears on the surface of inner and outer rings of the bearing as you look it from the backplate. If the bearing works smoothly (stick your finger in and try to rotate it, it should feel very smooth and no play) no need to clean the surface. Take the crankcase off, spray the bearing with some brake-cleaner let it dry, and re-oil it with some after-run oil. Do not spray the crankshaft with brake-cleaner if it has red putty inside.

Always use after-run oil to avoid rust inside the engine. Apply a few drops from the plug hole and a couple of more from the carburator hole. Use the engine starter for 2-3sec. If you are not going to use the engine for a long time, take the engine off the car, remove the glow plug, and put it in an air trapping bag after you have sprayed the bag with some wd-40.

I have seen this before and could wipe it off with an alcohol-napkin.

yeah after run oil will work, you just need to lube it so when engine starts bearing is not dry. you can also use some bearing oil.
