Can't get my Redcat Lightning Started.
I'm new to nitro and recently was given a new Redcat Lightning..After about an hour or so I got the car started for the first time. However the throttle was set incorrectly so I turned off the car...Problem is now I can't get it started again.. I followed the directions carefully, the glow plug lights up perfectly, and the motor is primed. The pull start does feel a little choppy, maybe I damaged it.. I really like this car and I want to get it running so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

take a look at the carb...make sure it is not closing completely at idle....are you applying any throttle when trying to start the engine....have you changed the low end needle settings?? (i'm assuming its a 2 needle carb)

I didn't tinker too much with the car, just pulled out the glowplug to test it. There is a slight opening in the carb, approx 1mm. Should I open it more?

1mm should be alright in general. Try closing the high needle and opening it up 3.5 turns. That's generally a good starting point for rich operation. You may not be getting much if any fuel into the carb even when priming it. Starting over with the high end needle is probably a good first step. The other needles generally aren't messed with by your average owner. Most people don't even know they're there so I wouldn't think they're out of wack.

Which carb are we talking about, Rotary or slide??
