Question of Installing Exhaust

When I install the exhaust, do I leave that piece of rubber on the engine that is wrapping around the exhaust outlet?

what car r u using?

if u are talking about the GASKET... please use the gasket....the function is not to allow the exhaust to escape from engine-to-manifold connection... coz you need the ALL the exhaust to give backpressure to your pipe to push the fuel in your tank.

again... i ask...

what car r u using? and what exhaust system u have now?
u have pic?

Sometimes its hard to get the gasket seated in the hearder, if it's not in there good , it'll be gone in a few runs.

You always need spare gaskets in your toolbox.
