Just curious what distinguishes all the different versions of wheels??

So far I think I have 3 different types of wheels and the all look the same. Also how do you know what inserts your getting (pink, blue etc)

Tony, if you are buying off the shelf I'm not sure you will know. In the spoke wheels, basic two option. Standard in black or white. ROK - stiff rim first was black, the revised material in orange, then a change with black rim and now white. You should feel the difference between the standard and ROK. The current black and white is stiffer than the orange which is stiffer than the original ROK.

Most common insert is blue wrap around, then gray medium, pink full width soft. New is full white full width, soft. I drill an air vent in the wheel if not there. Early wheels did not, so with some light you can tell the insert color. I mark my wheels with shore / rim / insert. You can pick the options off sites like IGT Hobbies or direct from Sweep when ordering.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Mark.

There is only 2 diffrent spoke wheels for the GT8 available from us.
  • Traditional Nylon(SOFT): Low tire wear, forgiving driving feel.
  • ROK(HARD): More traction, precise driving feel.
Both wheels available in diffrent colors.

Please note we do offer Dish wheels on same tires but those are mainly for Oval late model racers.

Thanks.
