I recently tried to dunk a set of ROK wheels in acetone to recycle some sweeps mounted on the older flex wheels and the ROK's melted like warm butter and crumbled to bits

Boiling water bath is the only way to recover rims that I've found to work. Slightly softens the rim in the process, makes 'em a bit more forgiving if you like clobbering the curbs. (of course that's not my style !!)

if I had to guess, it's because they crumble into pieces if you dunk them in acetone or bake them in the oven to remove the tires... I wouldn't be surprised if they are working on a new blend of plastic and will release ROKv2 soon

I don't believe they ever came in any other color than orange. They were the new harder wheel that were designed to give better corner speed.

I have a set of black ROK's, I believe they were sold in 5 colors originally, but only the least popular color is left... orange, ha!
