I got my hands on this one about two years ago, but didn't get a chance to finish restoring it. Nothing great, but still a super ten.

Contender, thats the FW04 SO version (special options). This is how my 4 stroke kit started out. 1st thing to do is junk the stock 2 speed and and get the proper version (with the blue/white gears). then swap out the shocks with some 3 racing alloy shocks or equivalent. the rest is purely your preference!

those were the days......[sigh]

Default O.S. Max 12LD-X

Nice looking FW-04.

Does anyone know if there is still demand for a brand new vintage O.S. Max 12LD-X for the FW-04? I was cleaning my house and I found a unused engine with the matching tune-pipe for FW-03/04. I don't even remember if I ever started the engine at all. I assume I didn't since I am not seeing any fuel leftover anywhere in the engine.

If there's interest, please search eBay and I have it for sale.

I would like to restore it to my FW-04 but unfortunately, I sold mine a long time ago.

Well I decided to sell mine. I'm not going to get a chance to ever use it and it's just sitting collecting dust. PM me if interested. If nothing is heard in two weeks, it's off to ebay.

I'm old school and agree 100%...bring back the HPI Super Nitro's!

I loved these cars! I had a FW03 back in 97.. wish i still had it Reminds me also at the mugen prime 12 at the same era.. Spend $$$$ on all the alloy upgrades, Custom fit a powerblock os into it. And Still got beaten by a stock Colt 10 with 2 speed and foams.. lol
