we only race 5 minute mains here so that is not a problem. here are the jacos, elligis and fast tires all for less than $8.50 per pair rcmart
the jacos are onsale for $7 flat.i have ordered from them plenty and they have the best packaging i have ever seen and use airmail as standard shipping. here are the GQ's winners circle rc only $9.50 lee is a great dude.
at those prices, i'd stick up on monotuning tires happily.
hey RWISEJR your from central islip? i was born in west islip moved when i was 10 in 1982

we do have 5 minute mains here in AZ also. but going from fast tires to monotuning, i can already say i will save money. our local track here is a car killer! i mean, the side boards are sticking up and stuff like that. i chunk tires almost every week.
then now i use monotuning and i am very happy to say that two weeks in a row.. and no chunks. same set i'm gonna use this friday. so i figure, i can pay less money and save by having a lot of sets of tires thinking that i really did save money... or i can go to monotuning tires and use up the whole tire instead of replacing them all the time because they are chunked already. i'd go monotuning.

If you don't race seriously, don't worry about tires
Get the cheap ones
