On my CD3 pro there seems to be some noise coming from the rear diff or front maybe if you roll the car along the ground. I've already checked and its not from the center diff. Anyone has that noise or it's a shimming issue. When I run the car on my track it sounds like an electric car and nitro running at the same time. LOL. I did fix a problem where the screwed on the steering rack interfered with an outdrive from the front diff. My friend failed to acknownlege that problem so it shaved down the outdrive's exterior slightly. The car doesn't hook up elsewhere that's slippery, but on the track it handles superb.

Mcfly
Here is my current setup..

body Mazda 6
tyres f/r 37/37 or 40/40 (though anywhere from 35/35 to 45/45 depending on track)
sway bar f/r normally 45deg/45/deg
front hub position 2 (middle hole on knuckle)
caster 1mm
Camber f/r 2/3
springs f/r White/Yellow
toe f/r -1/-2 (I used to run -3deg on rear to help with loose rear but went to -2 to help with more onpower steer)
rear dif oil rear 100k (might help stop chomping ur gears with less diff action, even 1/8 buggies kill diff gears when unloading too much)
front 1 way
ride height 6mm/6mm
shock oil f/r 35wt/35wt
shock piston f/r 2 holes small/2 holes large
shock tower f/r 1/1
lower arm f/r 2/3

Also try adjusting the rear top linkage to the lower hole on the rear hub (less angled arm) See http://p202.ezboard.com/fofnaracingn...picID=38.topic
Also if your centax is just set too high you might be trying to put too much power down? Lots of things you can change, whats your camber settings compard to what im running?

HarKonnenD, my diffs sounded like that when new in the LD3. I just make sure I have the slightest bit of movement between the gears when shimming the diffs.

Not sure, mines a LD3 upgrade so it was built a long time ago and dont even remember diff oil? If there was it was replaced with 100k

Default buying a cd3 pro over a kyosho fw05rr

Thought I would touch bases first with anyone how has a fully optioned cd3 pro? All the aluminum options including alum center shafts. The cd3 pro looks to be a much better deal than the fw05rr but what is the quality like? I like the ultra low-profile layout which should make the cd3 a parking lot terror. I am retiring my rs4-3 and upgrading to another shaft car...

FW05RR is actually a better deal, but the CD3 pro for the price isn't bad as it comes with all the upgrades. I just got the single engine mount as an aftermarket thing. For spare parts might as well get a whole new CD3 Pro kit lol.

IMO FW05 is ugly.

Options I recommend: lower alloy arm holders, alloy sway bar kits, one peice engine mount and alloy steering, spring kit. Use M2x6 or M2x8 machine screws for diff.

Options I am sus on: Carbon/Alloy towers (these heavier? someone correct me), center alloy 2 speed holder (again, is this heavier?)

CD3 is so much better over the LD3 for not picking up rocks in the 2 speed. Mine has spent a bit of time on not so perfect surfaces (chassis looks scratched like a 1/8 buggy) and CD3 pro (0.8) gears last so much longer

Yeah I like my CD3 pro. I dunno how it would do with say a faster .12 if the rear gear box keeps making that funny noise so it sounds like an elec car. Too bad they don't make solid rears for the car.

DONT WORRY ABOUT THE NOISE. IT USUALLY HAPPENS WHEN THE GEARS ARE NEW. ONCE THEY BREAK IN IT SHOULD GO AWAY. MAKE SURE THE SHIMS ARE CORRECT AND THEIRS ENOUGH LUBE IN THE GEAR BOX. MARC
