Actually, engines last longer running oval. I ran one engine for an entire year, over 10gal fuel and it was still in excellent shape.
We have been running Nitro Oval and Nitro Touring oval under the GASCAR format for 3 years and it is limited to 3 port motors, %nitro that can be ran and HP is limited too. This tries to keep the feild as close as possible.
Last year we ran 500 laps at a quarter scale track in Montgomery, AL and the race used 1/2 gal of fuel and I blew 2 tires. It is so much like Nascar, we run laps not time. Pit strategy, tire and fuel conservation, it all comes in to play. Going fast is ok, but when you do that, you wear the tires down and you can only go fast for so long.
We will be in Clover racing on the 17th of April and then in June, we will be at the Sugar Bowl in Sugar Hill, GA for another race. Anybody that would like more information, check out www.gascarracing.com
