I did just think of a couple pointers that might help though.
1. You can use more brake at high speed than at low speed so you can try setting it as high as it can go for the end of the straight and then using either no brakes or just a very quick stab of brake for the rest of the track. I do this at some tracks.
2. High bite you can use more brake, but of course you don't need as much then.
3. More rear downforce can allow more brake to be used but will make the car push in fast sweepers. Works well on tracks that don't have sweepers.
4. I often start a long main with a touch too much brakes and use it very carefully since they usually fade a bit over the run. I also keep my radio on the brake endpoint menu so during pit stops I can add a click or two as needed.
