I picked up my pair of Mugen WC Kits from Lou's Speedway (Dorchester Ontario Canada) tonight. I was impressed that 100% of my parts order came in as well. Thanks Mugen!

Lou Vanderwey will be at the Great Lakes Challenge with his Mugen as he returns to 8th. Lou was the last Ontario 1/8 On Road Racing Club's Champion in Hamilton before we lost the Track due to noise.

More Ontario Canada Racers will be running in Toledo in 2012.

No, you can't buy it as a spare part. Same with the steel engine mounts.

Would there be any chance you could scan the clutch setup booklet for the rest of us?

Is anyone experiencing difficulty with the front and rear belts?

When i first got the car, the front belts stripped, replaced them and they stripped, replaced them again with rubber belts and they were slightly better but then the rear belt stripped. Replaced both belts again and they BOTH stripped in last race 17mins into my finals.

I run at a high speed track with some hard braking areas...

Getting frustrated with the unreliability of the car.

Any ideas what could be wrong?

1)Are your pulleys clean of tire dust?
2)Did you replace pulleys after stripping?
3)What split are you running?
4)Where do you have your tension set?(the loose settings will cause failure sooner, The car is very free in the standard position)

I ask these question only because I have ran the original belts for 9 hard races before the front belt stripped just to see how far the belts will last.
Maybe due to me tearing the car down and cleaning the pulleys after each race, So it equaled about 8 hours or more before failure.

Hey Fasrick,

1) definitely cleared. Rebuilt the car before the race.
2) I always do because they stripped the pulleys too!
3) 16/21 49/46 (if i could guess wat caused the problems it might be this)
4) rear eccentrics 2nd from tightest. front tensioner almost 3/4 back. I was sure it was not loose before the start of the final.

I've almost come up with the conclusion that i would have to change new belts every time before a race or else i would not be able to complete a 45min final. Unless someone here can help me with a solution that i could have missed out...

below is a pic of our track here...check out the beautiful sweeper into the long straight

It seem like you're taking all the right steps to maintain the car and belts. Usually if you get on power in bumpy areas this can happen, or maybe some small rocks got between the pulley and belt. For the record Mugen make very good belts .
