Looks like 130 grams of weight is added... maybe that piece is not plastic and is needed for weight. ?

I think the black part in the car of Robert Pietsch is a cable guide. He mounted the receiver on the exhaust side, so he needs to route all the cables across the car (between battery pack and middle shaft).

However my question is, do you have any idea or willing to venture a guess as to the cause?

These bodies are vaccum cleaners. There is a very large low pressure under the front of the car. If its on top of the track and loose your going to suck it up in there when ya run over it, dust, sand, rubber etc. If you look at the right side up-rite from the front of the car when the wheels are turned right you will see that the bearing is expossed to the rush of air. It packs it in there.
I made a couple little deflectors out of scrap lexan. I drilled the forward screw hole on the front up-rites that is intended as the mounting hole for the wheel disc all the way thru and I am using a 4mm screw to mount the "deflector". If it works I'll make them out of carbon.

Looks good!

Is the purple your own anodizing, or are those aftermarket parts?

Also, where can I get those plastic body mounts (the parts that mount directly under the body)?
