thanks to our friends at xray whom have supplied a great guide on car setup which is similar with most modern nitro on-roads, I would suggest you download this .pdf file.

http://www.teamxray.com/teamxray/pro...me=XRAY%20NT1R
xray nt1 set-up book

Mugen needs to release a guide like this......

Everything you need to know about chassis settings and what they achieve is listed on here and took me years to learn. Hope this help......[/QUOTE]

+1 I agree, I use this often, I wish Mugen would offer one with their cars.

Thanks
C block, from memory is with the least aggressive steering.. And also use Kenji's 2 deg toe out.. Not with the Hudy set up tool..

So I think you should pushing it backwards right?

Pushing it backwards will make the steering arms more parallel which then both tyres will turn equal amounts, which also makes it more agressive and have more tyre scrub.

Correct???

I don't run Mugen anymore but... you guys are killing a really good car with all these mods. Mugen has always made great cars and I don't think the 5 is any different.

Don't hit, won't break. That goes for any car.

Default front end

I am kicking myself right now,I am not going to post pics of parts I make any more .I will just have people test them for me or I will test them myself when My track opens.I am making stuff that is needed to improve the car.And only parts that racers have given feedback on.I put alot of time and effort in things that I make.I am not trying to ruin the car just make it a little better. If I knew how to delete the picture I would.

I guess it was really dumb on Mugen's part to replace a Pivot Ball that has around 5mm (diameter) thread with a 3mm rod and expect it to be just as strong...

Hope Mugen addresses this problem for all of you MRX5 drivers.

+1. Its a race car not a bumper car. Design to go fast not to withstand smashing into things. 1/8th scale on-road is the premier class in ic racing, what did you want mugen to do, build a tank which is heavy and slow?

Please keep your updates comming, some of us like to hear them. I wouldn't mind trying a set when you're ready to sell some. PM me when ready please.
I would like some additional feedback; if the front corners are now holding up to more impacts, what other parts are you seeing breaking during frontal impacts? In other words: what's the next weakest link?
Cheers!

On impact the arms break to reduce the energy from that impact. If these parts don't flex enough or break then that force travels to the bulkhead and the chassis.

So to answer your questions, bulkheads and chassis, two of the most expensive parts the car.

west y do u have such a problem with trying something that might work alittle better no one said u have to change yours, sorry we dont all drive as good as u, mugen made a great great car but it has a weak spot thats above and beyond the normal limits to some of us, its not high speed crashing were concerned about, and its not the arms, its the ball end that is very fragile even at low speed impacts.. and at low speed impact u not damaging the chasis and bulkhead so have no fear. plus the car is way under weight so dont worry bout a 4mm tie rod weighing the car down or slowing it down. skip over the post about the upgrades and it wont bother u. also y are people that dont even have a mugen and dont know what were talking bout posting on here i dont get it, and i have said this before ill take the cost of changing a bulkhead or chasis that might bend but not cause me not to finish a race as long as i can finish and not cause of a stupid lilttle thing that could of been corrected.... dont let it get to u west some of us want to try it, u be ok....

Actually I asked for ltrdude's experiences with his mods, not your theories.
