They run together and chase each other and wait for other R40's whos behind on the track so they can practice racing side by side. Usually people just do their own laps So I think you should bring it back. On race day top 1st and 2nd were 710's. Not much 710's around but im glad to see them win. There are alot of shops listed in the magazines so do some search when you get here. Here is a link to the magazine...if you can read chinese maybe you can see if there are any links to shops. I cant read Chinese so maybe you can have a friend help out if your as lost as me. http://rctech.com.tw/

Here is a HPI ad I saw on the magazine. Im sure its a distributors number. (02)8675-3123 good luck
If it's parts availability you are looking for, you should consider G4 or LD3. Both are made in Taiwan and you should be able to find whatever you need quickly along with good support. On the other hand, if you do your homework I am sure you can get parts for your R40 just fine, albeit might take longer.

Jeffreylin,

did you get your engine from Wanban and which one did you get? I hope you went to the owner Ako who is the only one that can give any discounts.

I got the NSR12 S5. I have the NS12 S3 in the US and it's a good one--have more power than I am capable of using LOL. I did not ask for too much of a discount as I felt I need to support my LHS and they are running on such thin margin as it is. I also felt that I was paying for their good service i.e., breaking in the engine for me. Besides, the price was pretty good to begin with.

I suppose the S5 is newer than the S3? IThey have really good support if you buy it from them. Do you know who helped you break in the engine? Ako(owner)seems to know more than the others when it comes to rc stuff.

Certainly cheaper than the US. Between 10-30% less.

I think you are safe as long as you are not trying to carry fuel.

Taiwan weather is so unpredictable. The news you read about the weather online is never accurate.
Jeffrey how is your Kyosho coming along? I think you still need to break in your engine some more?

The car is done but I still need to set it up. I also must practice some this weekend before next weekend's race. Will you be at silver stone if it's dry?
