Pat Kayser Memorial Top Speed Award

The Toledo club continues to memorialize Pat Kayser, who passed away in 2000. Pat was a club member who put a lot of extra time and effort into the club. Among the many things he has done for the club, the most outstanding was as the designer and webmaster for the club website.

Pat was always bragging about how fast his car was on the straightaway. So the club decided to present a “Pat Kayser Memorial Top Speed Run Award”. The premise was that a radar gun would be used during the warm-ups for one of the qualifiers. To do something just a little bit different, Pat would have loved that, the club awarded towels with the Great Lakes outline, and printed with the name of the award, location and date.

This year, the awards were presented as follows:
1/8 GT - Marty Waldhelm - 53.5 mph
1/10 TC - Vincent Jackson - 62.7mph
1/8 Masters - Darrell Scott - 64.4mph
1/8 4WD - Mike Keely - 66.4mph

Default Shout out

Shout out to Jeff Parker for even making this race. Jeff came from Houston and left me behind. Jeff, next road trip that you take you have to let me know. I see that you did ok.....cool.....way to go! I like what Jeff Whiting said about making the Forgass race and the Winter Nationals. I am off that week so, all I have to do is run it by the wife. I have not raced since 2006 so I'm going to have to get some pointers to bring me up to speed (Fast). I hope to see you FL. guys at the Novarossi Challege in Oct.

I'll probably get to Homestead this coming weekend or next, so I'll photos of how the track has been updated.

Just curious - do you guys prefer to see a dozen or so photos posted, or many hundreds as at the GLC? Let me know, either here, or in email, before the upcoming events in Homestead.

I've always liked how RedRC will do their "new in the pits" bit. Nice photos and articles about whatever new gear can be found down in the pits.

Of course, in the case of Homestead, the big new thing is the track itself

I saw the youtube of Homestead, do they have a titanium conrod in stock for 1/10 scales on that back straight?

I may have to sell my other kidney to make it down there.

One of the easiest ways to clean the pipe is a product called Carbon off. You can find it at GFS (Gordon Food Service) stores. Spray it on, wait an hour, and then brush it off under water.

Will check the PM in a couple of minutes.

Wingracer, I started up a new forum for the Homestead W/C track. You can find it by going to http://www.sgrid.com and clicking on the track photo near the top of the page. Anyone can read; to respond to anything, just create a new account (they're free through the end of the year).

I created item #5, "New in the Pits", and will put information and photos of interesting new items being designed for, or introduced at, the upcoming Worlds. Thanks for the suggestion. Everything "new" will be in one place.

Not much new there right now, as I haven't yet had time to post the info from the Mugen team - maybe tomorrow.

For those who couldn't get enough of the great racing during the GLC, come back to Toledo for the last Midwest Series race that will include a Pig Roast!
Midwest Series details can be found at www.midwestseries.com
