Finished my custom receiver box:
Need to make some small changes to the design (too thin in some spots) but the overall fit and finish is very nice. The 471 receiver from Sanwa fits perfectly.
Now that I know the minium wall thickness and design features of the material I will start with the design of the universal receiver box for the standard Capricorn cars.

My first thought is that that the box should float and not touch the bottom chassis plate as this will cause tweak and binding, not allowing the car to flex evenly. Also, aren't prototyping plastics very brittle?
I would love to have a nice receiver box for the KO 409/411. I tried the mtx box and Pietch seems to have designed it to fit perfectly around his Sanwa. The KO does fit with the larger cover piece but its about the size of the fuel tank

they come with 6 hole piston, however you can order other ones. I am building mine with one hole in the front and 2 hole iin the rear like I always do.

LP Big bore shocks
Last sunday I finally had the time to test the new big bore shocks.
Design and quality is really good, as usual. I did had one piston which was slightly scraping the shock housing so I placed it in the dremel and sanded it a bit with 1000 grit sanding paper.
The fit of the pistons in the shock housing is very close, almost no play in the shockshaft.
The shocks come with 6 hole pistons with 1.2mm holes and 3.4kg 5.5 winding springs.
I also received the new springs and some different pistons.
I build the shocks with the 6 hole pistons and tried different oils to get a similar feel to my normal shocks (3@550). I ended up with 1000cst oil.
For the springs I started with the 4.1kg in the front and 3.9 in the rear. This are in between of the red and black full length springs in term of stiffness.
The car felt good with these settings, but was a bit too easy to drive. Suffered from initial and mid corner understeer. So also fitted the 3.9 springs in the front and this worked really well.
I didn't had time to try the standard springs, I think they are too soft but maybe they will work because of the car will roll a bit less.
I will need to do more testing with oils and pistons but I think my settings are a really good starting set.
So standard 6 hole pistons with 1000cst and 3.9kg springs all around.

Big Bore Shocks
Interesting what Daan and DJ have offered so far about these parts.
With both a C01 and C02 thread to keep track of, it's a little confusing to make sense of, however:
I believe on the C02 thread DJ mentioned he had to make to fit rear/lower ball cups in order to get the right amount of down travel (ie, the piston sitting in the desireable location in the shock body @ static ride height), and that is also what I found as well. Since I have lots of Kyosho RRR parts to modify, thats what I've done. Using the middle of the 3 sizes of ball cups, I shortened these .7 mm, together with the 4.8 mm ball studs and the "Flat/Older Generation" spring seats and Gold (stiffest front) springs now has the Rear suspension to my liking. I also discovered that the early RRR front springs work very well in both front and rear locations.
The front end used all the parts as supplied and 80 wt Associated Oil in all 4 dampers.
Ran the Car Saturday at Timezome and by the 3rd qual it was very good.
