Default Greets

I picked up a Razor2 myself, as I said in another post, I can hardly distinguish it from others like mugen. It's definitely a lot cheaper than all the others, they are coming out with some upgrades that should be very handy, and I look forward to seeing what I can do with it in the midwest series this year.

James,
Absolutely!!!!

But there is not a kit, you will have to do it part by part.

Is there a parts list for the required parts to upgrade to Razor 2 specs?

James,

Not that I'm aware of officially anyways. I'll see what I can come up with and post it in a bit...

Do Serpent pinion gears fit onto the Edam Razor?

As i wrote on my German-support-page, YES. Pinions for the Clutch-bell you can use from Serpent CentaxII. However, the (dark) pinions from Edam have the same durability as Serpent. A cheaper alternative are CSO Tuning-parts or team-titan Pinions. What is working good in original Edam-Centax is the yellow clutch-shoe from Mugen.

Why does the yellow clutch shoe work better?

I thought longer time, why the edam-clutch wont work so as i want, with the "normal" settings. I checked it and i could see, that the friction surface at edam-clutchbell is smaler than serpent or mugen. Therefore i tried a totally stupid clutch-setup and now it works good. But i had the feeling, that the red shoe was a little slippery, when race was longer than a qualify-run. Therefore i tested the yellow clutch-shoe from mugen (4-Pin) and i was quiet happy.
Tell me, im nuts, but i have a clutch-gap of 1.1 till 1.2 mm, flight-weights without screws and the soft spring! With this clutch-setup, the red shoe of kit feeled a little slobbery, there the yellow is better, i think.
By the Way:
If you have a engine with less Power in low RPM and a slow Track, try out the Serpent 15/18 Pinions. But, better not do this with a high Torque-Engine, because it makes the car "undriveable", therefore the minimum should be 16/19

I've only got the stock 17/49 and 20/45. Need to see how they work at my local track. We've got a serpent dealer just down the road so will be able to get pinion gears there.

the 17/20 is very long, only for fast tracks without acceleration-parts
Better use 16/19 for normal and middle tracks. If you have a racetrack with a long straight about 40meters or more, than you should check out the second gear with 20.
My Standard is 16/19 with a good Engine (Novarossi Kangaroo or Novamega Evo5)

Default Edam Razor 2

I don't know if there is a distributor yet or not. Edam wants me to deal the things and I'm inclined to do so but not till later this year, I'm busy as can be with everything else I have going down. That said, anyone that wants one, I suggest you look up Edam's site, eyeball the thing for yourself to make sure, then get with me and I'll order you one up. I did come up with a list of recommended replacement parts to have on hand as well (since they are overseas and getting parts fast isn't going to happen.) Figure ordering parts would take approx. two weeks from order to delivery, and if you're like me and have one race on top of another, I prefer to have stuff on hand. Also, I don't know what fits off a Mugen or Serpent tho from the looks of things it can't be too far off, I'll know better after the 29th when I can put mine alongside the others and inspect for myself. AND...if I get four or more people wanting one, I'll see about trimming the price as well, send me a message if you have interest in this....I'm not looking to make a buck, that's what my job is for (lol) but I'd need firm commitment from someone before I order stuff up. Thanx all....

Racing with Razor, i think you should have some spare-parts:
Lower Arms front and rear, Knuckles front and rear, and excentric-rings for rear knuckles. Belts you can use from Serpent in side and front. Rear-belt you can use from Mugen MRX4X.
Pinions from Clutch-bell you can also use from serpent. Gearbox-pinions you only can use from Edam, but they are realy cheap.
And, buy some other springs, because the green are the hardest from Edam. I use here in Germany the older Serpent blue and sometimes the red, the white from Mugen are also OK.
Have fun and enjoy
