the location of our current track is not where we had the Nats in 2002 so need to worry about that kind of tire ware

I don't really buy that. I've been to a lot of big nitro races and there are never more than a couple of school age kids racing. Not to mention that this is a Worlds. Every effort should be made to make the race as friendly as possible to the big factory driver. Make other races more family friendly.

Its not just that they might have to miss school, I think it has more to do with parents being able to leave their home for a week because they dont have to worry about kids having to get droped off and picked up from school. Plus a lot of times people will make a vacation out of the trip.

I'm sure that the existing track will have to be changed, it is quite small for an 1/8th scale worlds.

After racing at Lostallo, racing at Homestead the way it is right now will feel like racing in a fish bowl.

Maybe some new pavement too ...bumpy

I'm sure the Florida boys are up to the task, and will have a World Class Facility. Seems all the Florida venues are excellent!

+1 I've lived hear for 4 years relocated from N.Y. & all the races I've been to always have been very accomadating & the Florida State series program is 1 of the best run shows here.
we have some of the best run facilities
Kissimmee raceway
Fort Myers Home of the Winternats
Homestead Speedway awesome facilty located adjacent to Miami Speedway a lot of the racers who attend the State Race get a lot of enjoyment being able to watch some real racing right behind the track just being able to just walk a few feet & watch the P1 class & F1 practice no words can describe the feeling.
Best of all the are the racers who make every event a blast

What are the dimensions of the track? What are they going to be expanded too?

The track expansion will begin very shortly. We expect the racing line to be a minimum of at least 1,000 feet.

We will have several prominent 1/8 drivers test the new proposed layout. We will make adjustments and changes to the track based on their suggestions to insure that the track will be flowing, fast and challenging.

We will try to have the first race on the new layout take place in mid March with a very large 1/8 GT Race. Then, in April, we will have the FORGASS race with 1/10 Sedan and 1/8 Scale Open cars racing.

After these events we will evaluate the track layout once again and make any other changes that may be necessary to improve the track.
