Matt,
You and I gotta stick together! This really started out last spring whit us all talking about VINTAGE PAN CARS! Remember everyone admiring your Associated? We talked about using old cars, about making our own versions of old pan cars, Joe even built a prototype front end!!!

Lon Sr. had to find something to do with all those Italian lumps he bought so he changes it all around, lets everybody and his brother run them and now the P8C is the only way to go!!!!! To bad Jeff only wants a NIB car, I'd sell mine just cause that's what everybody's running. I really dislike SPEC classes where everybody HAS to run the same stuff (you know, like the Toledo Spec F1 Class ;-))

Most guys don't know that when SR. started racing he was a die-hard 1/12 Gas guy! He thought they were the greatest thing since sliced bread!! Now it's Italian Pan cars. If Chrysler was still owned by Mercedes they'd probably have to be German! lol

I bought the Dynamic Pan car from Bigmatt so I'll be ready to really turn some hot laps in the Spring!! Stick with your Old Associateds I'm sure with enough development (like 40 more years ) we'll be able to stay within a lap or five!

Default Give me a brake!

So in the 70s the Cox TeeDee was cranking out 30,000 RPM, the Veco McCoy might do 12,000. What Ned says is true, if there was a good 1/12 gas car out there, I'd be making you all run those instead. A TeeDee .051 was about $16.00, Folks, Those were the days my Friends! I'd wish they would never end!

By the way, No one says you have to run a P8C. It just appears to be the only game in town at this time. Bring out the old stuff and have at it. Ricks car driven by Matt put on a very good show, can it beat a P8C, I say yes! However, if I had to bet money on the race, I'd bet on the P8C and win more then lose.

Default Delta

That car looks very close to the Delta Super J I ran in the mid 70s. Super J had a glass chassis and centered servo saver. I'm thinking this is older then a Super J as metal chassis were giving way to fiberglass. Nice picture.

This chassis was before the Super-J. It had a flex plate on it that could be adjusted for tweak.

wasn't the whole idea behind the pans too have a low budget good time?. i would have run my 300 full time but the idea of searching for parts and trying too adapt new stuff was a buzz kill. the p8c is popular because of the price and support, look around town and you see chrysler mini vans everywhere ( made in windsor) for the same reason. i bet all the modern pans perform about the same. in the end pick your weapon put a cool realistic body on and participate

Default Let's RACE!!

The pans are all going to be a blast! Yet you can already see how the guys planning on running an older car are gathering parts. Ned is putting together a fleet of Associated cars and thumbing his nose at some of us by selling his P8C. T-Bone is looking for a used P8C, maybe Herb. How much? Over the years I've learned to respect Neds racing program, that could change
