Do you still have the pan car you ran at the 77 winter nats in orlando?
The one you machined the whole rear power pod from scratch. That car
was a masterpiece in engineering. I would love to see some pics of that
car.

I have been trying to find some rules here in Europe, but no great luck yet... I found the French rules which seem to only regulate fuel to 16%, with engine rules the same as in 4wd track. But I´m quite sure there are different rules in different countries and I hope some of those living in southern Europe will help you.
My personal thought is that Pan Cars have their limitations in their design, so an engine with to much power rules it´s self out. Take away weighted cranks and ceramic bearing and much of the costs will go down. Make the rules for whats to come, not for what has been. Don´t get me wrong, I hope to see both old and new Pan Cars racing side by side.
Just my thoughts...

were developed from the French rules and from what was discussed on this thread back then:

The weight idea is great. who will be supplying the screw on brass.
50-100 grams is prolly a good ball park. anything less wont do very much.
In all seriousnes pan cars look fun, something to get a little extra track time, and it looks cheaper, less things failing, tires can be used from worn out 4wd cars something that might be great for new people if anyone knows anyone thats new that would be interested.
Motor is not a huge issue, I myself would use a "used" or worn 1/8th motor maybe(to keep my cost down)?
or what ever might be allowed, not sure what motor lons car has in it but it seemed fine for the car.
I dont know why we have not raced these more

Tech Regular
Probably - I have the car I ran at the 77 worlds and am assuming it's the same piece - it's somewhere in a box.

A one cubic inch chunk of steel (cheap , plentiful) would weigh 128 grams _ if everyone wants this I can easily make some up over the winter.

This is the reason I suggested a carb and or pipe restriction - I would not be interested in going out and spending $$$ for some cheap lump when I've got a stack of out of date motors on my shelf.

great idea on the used motors, got any 32 rear tires you can part with? everyones out of stock and i'll need'em for the pan car

I will see what I have, most rear tires are 35 or 37.
I had some others interested in the throw away tires, i ca prolly share them with a few people.
