Hi everybody,

last week was the 2nd round for french championship, the race was located close to Paris. About 70 drivers raced.
There are 3 videos available on youtube, but unfortunately I can't post any links here.
If you want to watch these videos, you can search on this website with the keywords : CF 1/8 Piste Classique. There's a video with the camera on board !!

I don't know what all the motor problems are about, back in the day the perry 19 carb was the answer to all those problems!
If you have never run a pan car before, you might not under stand what a hard drive it is. Give it the best body you can, it needs it. Motor limits aren't very important as detuning is one of the keys to getting a pan car around the track faster. A pan is no thread to any 4wd car unless it's not close to a proper set up or poorly driven. I see it as an important stepping stone for young or old to get a good feel for the hobby with a lot less work and repairs a young inspiring racer can handle on his own. These are important steps to learn before the move up to 4wd.

Hi,

the 3rd round of the french championship will stand in CHATEAUROUX (center of France). At least 89 drivers sent their registration ! Good job for the club and good job for the revival of this wonderful category !
As an information, this driver's number is the best in pan cars' history and maybe one of the best result for drivers' attendance rate for an on road race at this moment in France...
Maybe, lot's of people thought that pan cars were only a vintage category, but it's not true now, these cars are modern, efficient and economic in use with a different but real pleasure to drive than other 1/8 on road category. Maybe these are reasons for the success here in France and also in other countries in Europe (Italy, switherland, Luxemburg...).
I dream of a day when we will be able to be recognized in the world in order to organize a worldchampionship ! Sorry to be a little utopian, because I'm also a dreamer...but why not ?
How many pan cars driver's all over the world and on line on RCTECH ?
Could we imagine anything together ?
Let us know in this post how many potential pan drivers in your country ?

Hoping to read you soon here to answer.

I just returned from the Motonica GP in Las Vegas. I took my P8C with me and my friend ran it in qualifying. I raced the car in his 'D' main against a full field of standard 4wd cars. Of course I was slower than everyone, but I managed to run a clean race and place 3rd, only 1 second behind the second place driver. The point is the car is very fun to drive and works very well. I was getting over 8 minutes on a tank of gas, and ran the same set of tires all weekend; in fact same set since I built the car. I did zero maintenance on the car other than cleaning it after each run. There is quite a bit of interest in this car and class, now we just need a few people to get them and start racing them.

Garen, That's pretty cool stuff! I'm waiting just as fast as I can! What's the old saying "All them French guys can't be wrong." or something like that. Lon

Hi, except if I'm wrong, but Garen should give you information about MOTONICA in the US.
If you are in Europe, I can help you.

Otherwise, as an information, last french championship round has been winned by a MOTONICA P8C extrem.
They were 88 drivers to fight for 10 finalists places !!
Here are statistics of constructors represented :

19 BRX Red Ball
19 DXF Lyon
18 Motonica
13 Contact
5 GT Due
4 Monaco Model 2003
3 Personal prototype
3 BP
2 MANTUA model
1 Monace Model Inside

As you can read, there is a large choice.

Default Thanks

Thanks for the information, I am in the US. I have been in touch with Garen concerning the Motonica, there really are no other options in the US at this time. This looks like a class that could really take off with the cost of an engine, pipe and chassis coming in less than the cost of a 4wd kit alone. The simplicity(and my age) is what attracts me.

William, I will email you.

For anyone interested, the P8C, P8C combo, and P8C Electric will be back in stock later this month. The cars are simple, easy, fun to drive, and cost far less to operate than any other nitro on road vehicle.
