old 1/10 scale ic car
1 Attachment(s)
Hi,
I'm new to the forums and i was wondering if anyone could help me out. I was digging about my attic the other day and i came across my old 1/10th scale ic car which i used to use when i was in my teens. i got the car second hand in about 1996. I was just wondering if anyone can help me identify what type of car it is, I remember during the time i used to use the car a new type of thin ic car was just comming on the market which i'm guessing has over taken the old wide 1/10th scale. I think the car is a Kyosho but i am not certain. when i got the car is came with a toyota body shell but i can't be sure that was the orginal shell that came with the vehicle. I have attached a picture of the car to this message. I hope someone can help me Thanks in advance Rob Garland |
Yes, it is a Kyosho car. However, I can't really tell what it could be. It might be an early Pure Ten edition but I am only speculating.

I had the same one in the 90's as well. If I m not mistaken its Kyosho GP Ten. It was the model before Kyosho Super Ten. Though it was 1/10th scale its actually bigger than the normal 1/10th. Mine came with BMW M3 cover.

It's not a GP 10 spyder touring car, that much is certain. The spyders were touring car chassis's with the engine mounted on the left side. They came out in the mid 90's, so that would eliminate that chassis as a touring car gp10. That looks more like an early style off road chassis or rally car or an early version of the super 10.

Thank you for the reply, it could possible be a rally car, it is 4wd and has a two speed gear box.

I 've been hunting around the internet under the suggestions that have been made and i ca'nt seem to find any model with those suggestions that look like this car.
Does it help to know that it is a solid metal chasis? I am also positive that it is kyosho now and i'm am currently in the middle of stripping it down and cleaning it and Kyosho is written all over it. does anyone know if there is anywhere on these cars that has model number? Rob |
I believe this is a Kyosho Super 10. It is larger than normal 1/10 200mm touring, right?
|
Take some wheelbase and trackwidth measurements.
|
width from rear wheel to rear wheel is 245mm,
width from front wheel to front wheel is 240mm. Rob |
