Talking Cutting Carbon Fiber

FINALLY here!!! I got my carbon fiber plates today... ANyone know a safe way to cut?? I wanted to use a scroll saw with a fine blade.

I'm aware of the safety issues involved, so please no safety lectures...

Anyone else have other ideas??

Thanks

Rich

make sure you have some extra blades as graphite make those blades wear quickly.

Wear a mask or you'll have quite a shock when you blow your nose.

besides, you can use wateror oil during the job so that the graphite dust will not flying around and this will also reduce wear on the blades.

I file the battery slot on the 1/12 chassis with some water on it.

You guys are funny!! My other hobby is High Power and Experimental Rocketry...the motor nozzles are made out of pure graphite, which I'm making for one of the commercial distributors...I've made about 225 so far...you talk about working in a COAL MINE!!! I had black boogers for days when I first started doing it...now I wear a respirator, but still MUST take a shower as soon as I come back in the house...I didn't weigh the powdered graphite (I was using a shop vac to suck up the majority of the dust) but the two times I dumped it, I'm guessing I had about 20-25lbs of it!!!
