Default Is this a scam or what?

I placed an order at RCMushroom the other day and received the following email back. I have dealt with them before and not had to go through this crap. What do you guys reckon? Scam or no scam?

Dear Customer,

For security reason, we are required to verify your credit card data and identity buyer's information before making any transaction and shipping out order. We need you to provide the copies of your:

1. Picture of ID
2. Picture of both sides of credit card
3. Picture of statement which show buyer's billing address to confirm your credit card data and shipping address.
4. Complete the attached form

All the information submitted will not be release in any purpose to other parties.
If we cannot receive your form within 3 days, your order will be cancelled.

RC-Mushroom
They also want me to fill out this form.

if your paying via credit card why didnt you pay by paypal?? rcmushroom prefer paypal and if you did you wouldnt get any hassles and you are also covered via paypal safety net. I have never had a problem with rcmushroom after countless orders talk to King or Angela, but I would cancel your order and just pay by paypal if you choose ems postage and would go out and say you will have your stuff within 7 days of making the order.
goodluck

If you give both sides away of your credit card to someone, that person can freely make purchases with it online..

DON'T DO IT!

Default rcmushroom

I have ordered alot from Rcmushroom, they are great(except for the shipping rate). I believe your purchase may have been higher than usual because the same thing happen to me. I ordered mostly parts, but when I started ordering motors I got this same message from them. Send them an email. They are trying to protect themselves against credit card fraud, and they want to make sure because of the amount. If you decide to send the info, send it in an email to Rcmushroom thur there web site, they will respond. Its good to be carefull, but it is a pain in the #ss, especially when you are on the up and up and have the funds available.

Yeah I know all shops like to cover thier arses but it's only about US$160. Nobody else I deal with requires this much info.........except the bank when I got my home loan.

we are Nosy....
i had this happen, it was apparently due to Pay Pal address beign different to the billing address. or if its your first order with them. they need some things to verify . all i did was a scan of a credit card statement. which most of the numbers are void on it. only first few numbers show. mainly address, name matches, should be all good. they shipped it from that scan. not filing in or giving them all those details. good luck
