Default V-One SII - Replacement Engine

Hi All,

First off this is my first post to the forum, so hello to everyone out there I live in Perth, Western Australia.

I've had quite a few r/c cars, been in the hobby on and off for the last 15 years or so. Have predominately been into electric, but my current car is a nitro, Kyosho V-One S2.

Here lies the problem- the stock engine (GS15R) - pull start, has kicked the bucket. It initially had a problem with the pull starter, the cord degraded to only a few remaining strands, got a new recoil assembly... but it looks like the motor has actually seized (at least close to it).

So my question is- what would be a good motor to replace it with?

My requirements would be that the performance is at least the same as the GS15R, with a bonus being it's slightly quicker Would probably also favour one with a pull-start..

Thanks guys!

Welcome to the forum. Another aussie here! If its a good, reliable and cheap motor you are after, consider an O.S TG like the one below

Im not sure what crank or carb you need but im sure there is a version to suit your needs. I had one of these and it was a great motor. Reliable, easy to tune and great run time ( over 11 mins).

Hi Renault_tech,

Thanks for the reply..

There's a 12-TGX on ebay which I *think* will suit the V-One. This particular model has a short threaded crank like the GS15R, OSMG1989. Unfortuneatly it appears I can't post URLs as I'm a N00b!

Would it just drop right in or would I need to buy a different engine mount and flywheel?

Another (cheaper) option could be a Hobao Hyper 12:

(url removed once again due to being a n00b)
