My RC brothers I have personally seen 2 engines from the wc 2007 1/8 and the 2006 1/10 of one of the top drivers and they do have more work done to them such as more of a knife edge on the rods and totally different timing on the sleeve, mods to the head buttons, special plugs and highly worked cranks, one would think that they have special material but they're not fancy looking at all more smooth ports and very very smooth turbo cuts on the crank and smooth case work
All in all they are mods that I've seen before from the likes of JP'S,MAX, MURNANS) IT JUST SEEMED THAT THE WORLDS ENGINES WERE A LITTLE MORE HAND WORKED THATS ALL. As for the new nova engines not even the drivers know what they are BECAUSE THEY CAN'T OPEN THEM. So in essence I think it ALL comes down to the most well prepared, best strategy,and the best part number that every racer wants and THAT PART NUMBER IS :

I looked at some pictures of Swaugers car and it seems to be pretty much stock. I spotted the short wb mod and that he did something to the rear swaybar "play" adjustment screws.
Do you know if he is using light transmission parts as well (wheel axles, shafts, etc.)?

Some questions:
From which material are your wheel axles made? Steel, Aluminium or Titanium?
You offer the small front layshaft in Ti and Aluminium. What are the pro's and cons?
Do I have to expect more wear on the light wheel axles and the front and rear layshafts? Any durability issues?

The front/mid layshaft in titanium is as durable as the steel and weighs about 6 or 7 grams as compared to the steel one weighing 11 or 12).
The aluminum midshaft weighs 3 grams. (These will wear out at the bearing locations over a season worth of racing and become a pain in the arse to get out of the car if unattended for awhile). But very light.
Magnesium Pulley adapters are subject to getting bent if a direct hit is applied on the side belt locations, but will survive the race but look wobbly if hit. These weigh 1.5 grams each as compared to 5 or 6 grams each on the stock ones.
Titanium 2-speed shaft weighs 11 or 12 grams as compared to the stock steel shaft at 26 grams. (Durability seems to be about the same as steel and because the one-way bearing rides on the 2 speed adapter(steel) does not seem to be a wear issue.
All of these weights are approximate the best I can remember them.

I tried a "Hong-Kong" 2speed titanium shaft once and it wore out pretty fast at the cut-in for the clip (developing side to side play of the shaft). Seems like I need to buy some higher quality stuff...

We use American 6AL-4V Titanium for all of our titanium stuff. No fun to machine at all.................

We stayed at the Aparthotel in San Bernardino.
Very nice and very people that own it.
Its about a 15 min drive from the track back up the mountains. It was worth the drive.
