Default TIRES tires TIres, Ellegi or UFRA.

What are peoples opinions on these 2 brands of tyres? I can get both of these brands fairly easily but i can get UFRA at a slightly cheaper price. I have found similar levels of grip but the UFRA tyres seem to chunk alot more or is it just me?

The UFRA's are definately better. In colder climate we can run 42 shore UFRA when we can only run 37/40 shore Elligis. They last longer for wear but like you say they are prone to chunking if you hit things (I know. Chunked 4 sets of 30mm rear in 1 day).

But on an open track they would be a better choice. What we do now is run UFRA's on the front and Elligi on the rear as it tends to be only rears we chunk.

Works well and grip is perfect.

You should try the GQ tires. In my opinion they are the best. GQ'S can be purchased at Marvin's Hobbie And Speedway. ($35.00 st. of 4 1/8 scale, and $23.90 for 1/10 scale. Work great and don't chunk.

Rocco,
Can you get me the web site for Marvin's. I have been looking for these tires and it sounds like they have a decent price.

Thanks

How about Jaco tires for 1/8? The LHS informed me they had just imported Jaco tyres for 1/8 Serpent which is about 85% of the price of Ellegi.

Get Calandra Racing Concepts tires (CRC).

They have Mugen, Serpent, Kyosho and Picco mounted. Great tire, great price.

they are Both GRP foams. In fact, if u go to GRP Gandini's site, they list all the brands they have under their name. they all should be pretty simular, minus the rims. My personal recomendation would be Arrows or Fioroni tires. Check them out at http://www.GSRacing.com .

I like the Arrows dish, they seem to be pretty durable rims.

Hey that GQ truer looks really good.
Does anyone know anyplace in North America selling it?
I've tried the distributor link on their site but nothing shows up when you click on any area. I emailed them too but haven't heard anything back.
