I don't suppose you remember stripping two 2speed spurs, the rear belt tensioner was missing and I was running a front locker causing a hell of a lot of understeer in and mid corner. Also the teeny ball joints on shocks kept letting go.

Ive switched to one way front, installed belt tensioner, had to redo all the brakes and shim the cam to attempt a smooth braking for the one-way. Will keep ya'll posted, but I think my enthusiasm might be short lived.

I do remember some having issues with 2 speed spur gears stripping, around the same time as the Mugen, but I never had such an issue. I think in 10 years of running the G4 I only stripped one second gear spur. I worn a few out though

As far as the solid front axle and one-way up front. I tried running them for a short while. The solid axle felt good on rubber tires although it became hard on belt wear. I had to run belts quite tight but it felt quite good on rubbers.
I messed with the one way once we changed to foam and it was ok but I had a better feel using the front diff' for sure.
Running a very stiff front diff (200,000cst) was really good! Anywhere from 5 to 50,000cst in the rear and stiff shocks.... that may be a personal taste though.
I really did find the G4 felt better ran very stiff with very small diameter tires.

Lol...... all this talk of the G4 is making me want to build my RS I have packed away
Maybe my next project

Let me know how things go guys with the car.
I have always had a soft spot for this car ..... extremely underrated car.

Regards,
BM

Hey ppl,

I had bought some TM lightweight aluminium bottom spring shock supports that didnt fit the Capricorn. When I used the longer soft white springs from cap I was at full extension on the spring and spring retainer. So I swapp out the click on G4 spring supports and it gave me some adjustability.

Default Testing the G4RSII

So, the time has come. This saturday I'm going to test the G4.
I'm really excited and I think it's going to be very interesting.
