#1579
sorry but i didnt really under stand witch parts fit ?

The G4JR has a narrow tail, it's sister car is the G4+EVO08 or the G4RS 08 not the G4RS09.
G4+/G4/ G4RS/EVO 07 the rear chassis is slightly wide and different rear bulkheads.
Part numbers for G4RS09 all begin with 504... you want part numbers starting with 502.

Hi oldskool325,
Generally yes, your G4JS was produced off the G4RS (2008) and G4JR (also 08 from memory) platform with the final itteration being the G4+ evo late in 2008. The G4D is the most current model off this chassis base and is produced to this day. All of these models have a Team Magic product code starting 5020XX.
The G4RS09 (mid 2009) is a completely different animal as it shares no parts with the earlier models, its TM product code is 504000 and sometimes is refered to as G4two.
That JS of yours is a good model for club racing so stick with it.
Look in these forums for a thread dedicated to these earlier models for better answers to your specific questions, parts support for your earlier model is still very good, possibly better than the current RS09!.
Hope this helps

If your JS has the narrow rear end then it's a different rear bulkhead and bottom plate.
Here's a list of changes the TM 502 series had
Front bulkhead changed twice, from bottom inserting diff to top mount
Steering changed twice from rails, to rack to bell
ED system changed the internal gear ratios Trans and front pulleys as well as the 2nd gear housing.
The clutch changed three times, non ufo centax small, ufo centax and back to non ufo centax
Top cross brace support ( and bulkheads) changed twice from origi to top mount, to WC
Front bumper top plate changed to support WC
Chassis plates changed from wide front G4+, to RS narrow front in various thicknesses
Shocks have changed a few times, top mount etc. And piston shafts ansd securing method, holes, bladders.
Shock tower widths
Rear hubs changed and top arm methid
Flying wing arms were added and rear sway system
Disk brake system and hub for pulley support varies the latest being a non ed lightweight with pins.
Radio module box changed from early models
Ive probably forgotten lots of other changes on the 502 series.
But for the most part your late model JS kit is best hopped up by buying a G4+/EVO 08, and then all you need is an ED transmission system. I wouldnt suggest individually hopping it up, it'd be cheaper buying a second hand or new G4+/EVO
And in my honest opinion.. the G4+ LE is and was by far TM's best car
Here's what our race car spec is comprised of
G4+ LE
+ WC kit (Front end only)
+ G4+EVO shocks
+ ED transmission
+ Wide shock tower rear
+ UFO clutch
Im going to try and post a lot of old and used spare parts on my website over the coming months to help out people with hand me down TM cars, they'll be $1-5 dollar parts and am happy to help out anyone with needs such as yourself as I have too many TM's and parts like many of us do.
The problem with the belt tensioning is that the whole rear end needs changing if you go backwards in chassis plate.

and ensure you are running the correct pulley.
Also for new parts, the best support Ive found for TM parts is Peter at rcmanufactory.com, he's the most (no offense to Wolf Hobbies - Never dealt with US as postage costs are too high to Australia) knowledgable and when you submit your request for parts tell him what model you run and he'll adapt the order correctly.

I run 2mm spacers under the front inner upper pivots so as to lower my front roll centre, I'm trying to gain some front grip. I will be trying a higher rear roll centre this Tuesday night so as to take away some rear grip. These 09's have so much roll centre adjustment its not funny, fine tune with the upper arms and major changes with the lower arms (K Factory mounts).
For wheelbase I run maximum short due to our small low grip track, again heaps of adjustment here.
I think the latest trends from other manufacturers is for spots on the chassis to mount weights at the front, middle and rear and I feel one reason they can do this is because the completed cars are so underweight these days and weight redistribution has drastic effects on chassis balance, a match made in heaven. The 09's are light but no places to quickly add screw-in brass plates like others.
