E-clip question.

While working on a local racer's Mugen the other day I noticed something really cool about his car. The e-clip that holds the two speed on had a tab on it, bent over at 90 degrees so you could quickly and easily remove and replace it by hand. Unfortunately he said he got the car used that way. Anyone know where I could find such e-clips?

They are $8.99 for a pack of 4 pieces, I find it expensive, so I am not sure if I want to bring them in.

I would buy a pack. Anyone know of a domestic source?

VA_Racer 06-17-2009 06:42 PM

it might be alittle pricey but well worth it. I love that eclip on that mrx3 and would like to get some more and some for the mtx4.

Probably in a week or so.

There you are. You're lucky I didn't steal the one off of your car :D

Sweet. With all the second gear stripping problems the TC guys have I would think they all would want one. With another two speed housing and bearing set all ready assembled with a new gear and one of those clips I could swap one out in less than a lap I bet.

VA_Racer 06-17-2009 06:48 PM

You have been eyeing it for a couple weeks now:lol:

If any shop has some old SMP Slide inventory might have some of those clips.
They thought of that 10-12 years ago.
Dremelboy??!!

These e-clips are great!
Once you use them, you will not use the standard e-clip again.
They snap off very quickly, and if you are racing, strip a spur gear, it will get you back on the track in no time.
I bought all of mine from Kamikaze, and wish they would have been available years ago.
Well worth the money.
