Glad you found it. That was true with the old gearbox too. The 2speed shaft has to have a little room to float.

Pass you soon...

Clean the one-way. And use thin grease on it instead of one-way lube.

Is the one-way lube too thick or too thin?

You may have one way lub on the two speed shoe.. Just clean it. Make sure you dont use more than a drop on the one way bearing. If not, all the extra lub will go into your two speed shoe causing it not to shift at all.

Isn't it shifting way to early?

If was "cutting in" and it suddenly stopped, check the 2nd gear housing. It could be broken in two pieces. Remove the gear and make sure it's not broken. The "old" 2speed is one of the most consistent I've ran so unless its broken it should shift early or late.

if you have loosened it alot, then id listen for the engine bogging, as off the line it could very well be stuck in 2nd gear due to being too loose.

and if any of my mates reading this, yes a special 2 people ! do make sure you havent lost your 2nd pinion off your clutch bell ! yes. i know......

Not sure if this is the cause of my gears striping, done 3 of 1st gears on the weekend, but the 16t pinion goes into into spur 61t almost like the tip of the triangle shape where the spur (x marking on it) looks like it should accept a pinion that has a flat end, like my 2nd speed pinion, does anyone know what i mean and could this be the cause of me striping 1st gear all the time?

Sounds like your 16t pinion is worn out. If the teeth on the pinion taper to a point "^^^^" then it time to replace that pinion. This situation will cause you to strip gears
