How long should a Pit stop take? Also does a fuel gun make a difference?

Just a few seconds for the actual stop.

If the guy doing the stop is good, a fuel gun does make a difference.

The fual gun helps for some pitguys. But i've seen 1/10scale fualing done with a bottle being equally fast as the gun...

You should stop as often as you need so you don't run out of fuel, but don't make extra stops which waste time.

Less fuel spilled with the gun. But it depends on there expierence level.

In my opinion Pit stop should take 5-7 seconds by good mechanic with gun.
Till 10 seconds by less experienced man.

Fuel gun make difference, you can be sure that you have 75ccm in the fuel tank not less. Sometimes, when mechanic desqueeze the bootle too early it pumps fuel OUT of tank... I had one situation like that... It sucks...

But you must know, that fuel always spills a little bit.

By the way I have tested a lot of guns, (RB, Xceed, Proline, Ofna) and Xceed seems to be the best so far.

It also depends on what the car is, 1/8th Evolva with an open body tank vs a 1/8th IGT with a windshield opening will have some time difference.

From this last weekends 1/8 IGT race I was checking lap times and come up with each pit taking about 5.5 to 6.0 seconds filling a 150cc tank with a 500cc fuel bottle...

Obviously your pit should take the shortest amount of time possible.

Seen guys using fuel guns on the 1/8th GP cars and they were most likely 4 seconds or less.

Try to have your pitman practice during one of the practice days.

so where is this exceed fuel gun available? In a 30 minute race how often should one change the tires? I ask this because i raced electric touring for 10 years and now am going to run nitro.

In nitro racing, most will have a fresh set of tires trued for the race.
At our track, tire wear is very good, most will use one set (possibly two) during qualifiers. We have three ten minute and one the following day then the mains. The mains are 20-60 minutes. They will only use the one set during the race. The GT series can last most of the season.
