I spoke to Glenn and he said that the mall may happen in about 2 weeks. I think he had a meeting with the mall today.

GLARCRC will be racing at the Carson Mall this weekend June 13, 14 2009. Track setup will be Saturday starting at 7:00am as we welcome the NATC series. Because of the smaller numbers of 1/5 scale this series, we will run practice sessions between qualifying rounds and continue with open practice upon conclusion of the 1/5 mains until 7:00pm. The track will be setup on parking lot A located behind JC Penny's.

Sunday's format will be practice, quals, mains. here are the rules presented to us by the Mall

No I.C. engines to be started before 9:00am

No operation of R/C cars anywhere on Mall property except on designated areas (the track)

No overnight camping unless cleared by host organization, Carson Mall, and premises security.

Anyone found with illegal narcotics or alcohol in their posession will be detained by mall secuity and handed over to the custody of the Carson Police. The Mall has assigned designated security officers to be stationed trackside to enforce and observe.

The Mall as well as the new Management at Penny's is excited to have us back racing and we MUST put our most professional foot forward and at the same time present a fun show for everybody as we are going to be closely watched by the new ownership and marketing managers. Our actions will determine if they will have us back so it's really up to us all to do this right.

Enough said...WE BE RACING!!!

One last thing...the mall is going to give us $100.00 shopping certificates and the management will draw 1 racers name per event and notify the winner. Each racer will recieve 1 certificate upon signup and if you make a Mall purchase from any of the stores or the food court, staple the reciept of purchase to the certificate and turn it in to race control, one of the Mall marketing employees will take the certs. at the end of racing Sunday and draw the winner.

See you guys this weekend!!

Hey Jason,

Check out http://greaterlarc.com for the schedule. As far as the Mall goes, they have to check us out before they commit to a schedule, there is also another lot that I just recieved leasing contracts for yesterday, it's bigger than the transit center, great smooth asphalt and surrounded by a 8 foot fence on all sides. It's behind the L.A. Coliseum and I will speak with them next week to see what we may do about some events there.

We are going to keep running at the Transit center and our newest idea to help tyre wear there will be to setup the same layout for the rest of the year and drown it with VHT, this will fill in the abrasiveness and tyres will last longer.

These other lots are designed to expose the hobby as these locations have heavy traffic. Like you and I talked at the Kamikaze race, this sport DESPERATELY needs new blood and we need to start holding events where it can be seen. The biggest soloution to growth is through advertising and these locations are prime for that.

See ya this weekend!!

Is there any possibility of a permanent on-road track for GLARC in the future plans? I'm looking for a Nitro friendly permanent track in SoCal.

The biggest obstacle to permanent facilities here in So Cal is $$$ of land, ASTRONOMICAL!!!, We have been working on some proposals through L.A. County Parks and Recreation and they are showing an interest, that's about all I can say at this point but we will let everybody know if something concrete arises

There is a permanent track at Crystal Casino in Compton. I don't race but have been there since it's around the corner from my shop.
