tc3 nitro, dif cover replacments?
The plastic dif covers (front and back) are stripped where the shock towers screw into, is there stronger covers made for this problem?

Have you tryed longer screws? Some years ago there was aluminum diff cases for it. Dont remember who made them. Its been 5 years since I had an NTC3, but I do remember most of the screws where too short.

aluminum diff cases can still be purchased on ebay

There are two options. Aluminum diff cases or you can try to find "The Fix". That was a set of these long aluminum nuts that went down through the shock towers with long bolts coming up through the bottom to hold everything together.

Thanks for the input, I'll try to find the aluminum diff covers.

have u tried the optional carbon diff covers? Also from experience i dont like the aluminium ones because they dont hold the bearings very well and it will allow the bearings outer race to spin and wear inside leading to excessive play.

I would try the "Fix" You may have trouble finding it. It contains two sex bolts that go thru the upper shock tower and rest right on the top of the upper diff case. Then a long 4-40 screw would come from the bottom thru the lower diff half and then screw into the sex bolt that was mounted from the top. If you go to fastener shop; you probally can order the sex bolts and long 4-40 screws. May be a little pricy but worth the cost in busted diff cases.

Thanks, I'll ask around and try to find the "fix", that makes sense, If I cant find it I'll try the carbon covers, I havn't tyied that yet either.

Did some digging on ebay, didn't see the fix but there were several aluminum cases on there. Carbon AE ones might be worth a try but i suspect they are only slightly better.
