RICK WILSON: STARTING GRID NOV. 3RD

Starting Grid Roar2003 Item 38: Summary of Fall 2003 ExCom Meeting
Entered by Rick Wilson (m2spec99) on Mon Nov 3 20:27:54 EST 2003:

Much of the meeting was spent discussing positive directions and the
goals for 2004.

We are looking to establish some consistency in the rules and tried
our best to only make rule changes where there have been
inconsistencies or changes were necessary.

The direction of ROAR is to continue to be one of the best racing
organizations for RC racers. To support our members and tracks and
build membership by providing rules, guidelines and sanctioned races.

We are looking to provide excellent races and opportunities to compete
in the IFMAR World Championship events.

National venues have been decided but the ExCom Competition Director
will be in contact with the tracks/clubs to verify information and
dates before we post the schedules and locations.
(BE PATIENT)

Rule changes for 2004...

be made with blocks placed under the chassis so that the tires do not
touch the base and the thickness of these blocks be added to all
height specs. (This is now defined in the class specs where
appropriate)

2-42 Qual Points will now revert back to the systems used in 2002 (2
rounds added together with the next best round to break ties) oval
remains as it is stated (single fastest qualifying heat)

2-45 New sentence added: The race begins with the timing tone or the
green flag. (There were cases last year of penalties assessed because
during warm up because of a lack of the definition we just added)

2-66 Penalty changed for refueling or repareing in pit lane to a stop
and go (in 2003 it was a 1 lap penalty if done in a main)

3-35 Rule about painting or not painting wings will be deleted. This
rule will no longer exist.

19 Turn stock class will be added for all electric racing.

6-8 Turbo plugs will be allowed for all nitro racing.
