New Engine for Ntc3

what would be a good reliable! engine between the range of 100-200 dollars.

Either the OS TZ or the JLR. You can get either of these for under $200!

I have the OS TZ 18 and its a great engine. Mine is the EB Mod but you dont need to spend the money on the mod unless you want to beat all your buddies.

If your just into bashing; I would look at the OS CV series engines. Those can be had for around $125.00. that was the first engine I had in my NTC3
Not sure if the CV series is still in production also look at the TG series engines by OS

You can look at the OS 12TG engine series. They come in pullstart and non-pullstart with either a rotary or slide carb and threaded or sg shaft. One can be obtained for under $180 easily.

The OS 18 are good motors, but there is so much torque on these engines, with a shaft driven car, you will get torque steer very bad. I have tried them in the NTC3 many times, and you have to feather the throttle to prevent the problem.
Stick with a good 12, <many manufactures> and you will be fine.
The JL Red dot is a great motor, and for the price cant be beat.

you may want to try to buy one of the .15 engines from associated. there are a few on e-bay that are brand new. i love these engines, and they have always been pretty reliable for me

are there any cheap novarossi engines for my ntc3?

..........I have ran a .18 and a .28 in my TC-3 if you run kawahara 40mm wide tire with the .18 it will take care of the torque steer problems. But you have to run wide bodies.

nitrohead5300 04-12-2009 10:43 AM

here is a picture of my TC-3 with a .28 in it. http://i711.photobucket.com/albums/w.../untitled4.jpg

Because of the torque I had to use some Wolfpack Radicals adapters to mount extra wide tires in the rear for traction. I also have steel diff pinion and spur gears from a Ofna LD-3 so the TC-3 is almost bullet proof. http://i711.photobucket.com/albums/w...Picture047.jpg
