Team Magic 1/8th Onroad Car - Dirt Cheap!!??!
A quick browse on the net landed me on this Singapore online hobby shop - ROTOR
I managed to find something similar to the discontinued GS Racing Sonic ARR 1/8th onroad kit - Team Magic Shock GT made by Team Magic over in Taiwan.
There are next to no sites which give any decent information about this kit. It seems a little on the cheap side by a quick scan of the pictures on the Team Magic website.
But its the price that is the seling point approx U$320 for the assembled kit, with foam tires including an engine and radio.
For a few dollars more there is the Shock GT Pro kit. It does not include tires but wheels are included and there is no engine and pipe in the kit. However they claim all the optional hop-ups are included in the Pro kit.
Does anyone have any info, comments, etc. on this model?
It seems to be an excellent area to start off in the 1/8th On-road arena.

Sorry my mistake - it is U$320 with kit + engine + pipe = NO RADIO gear included.
The reason I am considering this kit is - sure its not going to handle very good (or even good at all).
But look at the price folks - U$320 + radio gear and ur at the track racing.
Now, lets pick the *cheapest* standard 1/8th on-road available we can buy.
That would be
* U$429 for a Fantom 2001 Evolution from RC Mart in HK
* U$200+ for any sort of .21 on-road engine
* U$50 for any kind of pipe + manifold combo set
TOTAL = U$679
That price implies if you live in HK - everyone else must add further postage cost to shipping that kit.
We all know Mugens, Kyosho, Serpents perform - but at what price?
I certainly would not learn to drive in the *real world* in a Formula 1 open wheeler. I'd start with a Toyota Corolla.
I sense that all that replied here are seasoned racers and I realise you guys don't give much compromise with your cars.
Look at it from our point of view - the n00bs - we don't need a kit which offers infinite adjustments. That would probably stun and frustrate a n00b to death.

Remember, no point giving a noobie a JP Black since he'll be more likely spinning the car or worse - having a good confrontation with the wall.

Doesn't look too bad, esp. for the money. I wonder if they got parts too.
