I need to go on record to take back what I said about the 41 tooth metal gear replacement - I blew up 5 metal gears (2 in one day). It is not the answer to the transmission problem on the Kyosho car.

The answer is the Ipanema Blackhawk Transmission. I put mine in 4 months ago and since then I have had zero transmission problems.

Sorry for the bad info but at the time I wrote the post I thought the metal gear would work.

You don't have to apologize. It was one of the fixes that was put out by some folks that experimented with it and had no issues at the time. I think that fix is dependent on what engine you are using it with. I don't think that it would grenade if you were using the stock engine but probably would if you were using a high-end (2.5hp or above) engine with tons of torque/power.

Yeah....Lee

Beside, I had already told people what had happened to you with that setup on another GT thread and suggested they get the Ipanema transmission like you suggest, instead...I guess someone failed to look back that far.

I said that right after I tried it once, I does not work for racing. Evolva tranny is the best solution.

Default ipanema

Is the Ipanema transmission upgrade worth it? Has there been any problems with this kit? Thanks

I'd like to learn more about the IGT2s. Could you provide the URL for the site you mentioned.
