Default Crank bearing size for NS12

Does anyone happen to know what size the bearings are for the NS12 and the main advantage of the larger crank diameter?

Default Re: Crank bearing size for NS12

Front bearing size is 7x17x5 with more balls than the previous version for better guidance of the crankshaft. The only thing I can think of having a larger crank diameter is reliability not forgetting increased rigidity whilst reducing unwanted vibrations.

The larger crank is needed for the extra power. The rear of the crank is not supported so the force from the piston deflects the crank downwards on the ignition cycle resulting in loss of power. A larger diameter crank reduces this.

Another way is to have the crank made from a stiffer material, Titanium

a titanium crank will work good for a little while, but it does expande with heat. I've seen them run in an OS engine and the TI crank expanded and seized in the bearings. However, it does work very well with a nitro drag car beacuse the engine isn't running for that long at the 250+deg mark
Am I going back racing?...Hmmm.. Not anytime soon... But soon enough.
