Nitro rs4 RTR 3 evo+ HELP!!!
 

Hi, i have a Nitro rs4 and one of the my pinion gear is stripped. How do you remove the pinion gear off the clutch bell? I've tried heating it up and couldn't get a chance to get a grip on that thing due to the heat. I couldn't manage to come up with a way to get a grip on the clutch bell without damaging the clutch bell and the second gear or burning myself. any help would be appreciated

hey bro im not positive but i think that clutch bell is one piece. The spur gears r pressed on to it, i will take a look at my friends tomorrow and let u know

on the rs4 3 both pinion gears are threaded onto the clutchbell. the only thing i can suggest is brute force. on mine i just heated it up, wrapped paper towels around the bell and grabbed the gear with pliers and just hulked it loose. hope that helps.

hey the way i got my pinions off is heat is up, dosed it in some flammable liquid (forgot which one) and then got the pinion pliers and loosened them...they are really tight at first so have some patience :)

grab second gear wit a baby channel lock nd use a vice grip or another channel lock to unscrew 1st gear. If u can grab the clutch bell wit the vice grips dat would be better. grab the clutch bell rite next to the 2nd gear since the metal is strongest there :tire:
