That is a Lithium Ion battery (similar to laptops) the cells are very similar in performance to Li-po however they need to be charged and handled slightly differently. They have the same voltage and discharge characteristics, but handle charging, and overvolting quite differently.

Be sure you set your charger properly to charge Li-Ion batteries as fully charging a 2S Li-Ion pack to 8.4v+ is not recommended and will shorten the lifespan of the pack. Your charger (when set to Li-Ion) will know when to stop putting juice into the pack.

They also weigh more than Li-Po which is beneficial for our application. If you have the charging gear and your servos can handle 7.4 (or you have a regulator) they are a good choice!

For obvious reasons I prefer a well made nickle metal pack

Guys, do you know wich brands of SETUP SYSTEMS goes OK with the Velox V10 ?, i had a HARD (Team Magic) system but i cant use it on the Velox V10 because of the way the wheels system is.

I know Hudy one fits ok, but i want to know other alternatives (xceed maybe ?),

thanks,

I personally would get the Hudy setup system. $150.00 Works great, great quality.

Guys,

Last week i participated on 4 days international race in Lima - Peru called "Copa del Pacifico", with attendance of couple USA drivers, 10+ from Ecuador, 6 from Chile (my country), 15+ from Peru, etc ... 60+ drivers in total.

I was the only shepherd racing the event, started on practice days very slow but the car evolution was amazing ...

On the last qualify i went very good and got my ticket to semifinals (ifmar structure of racing).

On semifinals the story went bad ... i started 5th and made myself up to 1st place during the first couple of minutes and got very very good pace getting almost a full lap lead gap by 4 minutes. At 4.30 mark my pitman called me and he made a very huge mistake, he didnt closed fuel gun and "covered fully" my car in gas ... engine stopped and rear belt slipped out because of the oil of gas ... after couple trying puting the belt back, it slipped out again so i had to abandon.

Very high level of frustration (my pitman still email me one week after saying "sorry" lol !!), but im very happy with the car, here a video of my semifinal up to the point of entrance to my pit refuel ... enjoy ! :

cya !
