hey there!

the updated front knuckles don't have a new number. We have sent out replacements for the old ones to all our distributors so they should already have them in stock.

You find some setups on our homepage, unfortunatly I can't post url links here.

Best regards
Patrick

Default Stripped gears

Has anyone else been having problems with stripping spur gears (mostly 2nd gear). I am very competetive with this car but I frequently suffer DNFs due to stripped gears. Also, I''ve noticed that the side belt is pretty loose even with the tensioner on the tightest setting. At the worlds I saw that Marc ran an additional side belt tensioner. Is that an available Shepherd option? Thanks.

Check all of your 2 speed and clutch bearings, also make sure the 2 speed clutch air gap is set right.

The V10 2 speed clutchbell has some tolerance issues. The bearing is a very light press fit and will work its way loose without any precautions. If the bearing slides out while you are running, it's done. Replace it with a good bearing and use loctite or permatex bearing retainer. As an extra precaution you can score the clutchbell with a flathead screwdriver to create a small lip that captures the outer race of the bearing.

The double roller belt tensioner is a Team-C part and is available at tcmodels.net

First look that the teeth of the Pinion and Spur gear are perfectli parallel (no angle), if they tuch in an angle this will cause a prematurely failure of the Spur gear. Look at the Pinion and see if they wear evenly across the whole teeth.

Also when the Pinion get too worn out they damage the Spur gear. Look at the Tooth profile on the Pinion and when you see they are worn, dont wait too long and exchange them.

For the side belt I use a tentioner from TeamC but it's not an ideal solution for me since it's in the way when I want to get the engine out if Shepherd dont come up with something I will make a belt tentioner myself like on Marc's car.

Regards

Hey guys, what clutch spring are you guys using??

How is the VCC spring compared to other springs like the Mugen Hard or the Orion Square Spring??

Will the VCC spring fit clutches like the Xray or Capricorn??

My gears looks good, but I did notice that the 2-speed clutch bell did lose the initial tight fit of the bearing which I plan on replacing. As far as the VCC clutch spring, I think it works well. Although, I do plan on trying the new yellow clutch shoe. I like the bite of the stock one, but it does seem to wear a little more than I've seem on previous cars that I've owned. It's mainly due to the style of my home track which is technical and high grip.

-Geberit, if you decide to make a tensioner, let me know. I'll buy a couple from you.

Another thing to check if your stripping gears, I had a bent 2 speed shaft, the gears grounded out on a track marker and slightly bent the shaft, just a thought

I dont know if there are developments that will result in the same changes for the V10 within the short term.

Hey there!

As the V10 is only one year old, we don't bring out a new version this year. Only some smaller optional parts will be included in the kits.

Best regards
Patrick
