Anyone check the video on RedRC?? By their reporting, it doesn't look like Ielasi is running in the top 10 for fastest laps but his car and driving does look quite good compared to the others in the video clip. I liked the last part of the video of Dirk W. where you could see Ielasi catching him. After seeing that bit of video I am quite curious to see not so much the qualifying but how the finals play out!!

One thing is clear, in the world of RC cars copying is very much done and Serpent is not only inventing and designing but also looking to other cars and copying what they can use.

Regarding the EC, it is a good thing to see that many brands are busy with devellopping cars what is making this event very interesting to follow with all the new cars from the existing brands and many new brands.

Part of R&D is taking other cars from other manufacturers and looking at their strengths and weaknesses. Some companies implement stuff from other classes, cars and some features they came up themselves.

This is part of life.

Not to hi-jack the thread, but as an example.

Brawn GP in formula 1 came out with the rear diffuser on the 1st race of the season. All other teams were at lost, mad and wanted them banned.

Today all F1 teams run with a rear diffuser.

Same thing here...

------------

Back to the V10
It looked nice on the video, hopefully it can improve even more tomorrow.

Default Constant driving

What I understood from Daniele is that it is all about constant laptimes, everybody can do a fast lap but at the end its the lap-average what counts.

I don't know if it is allowed to cut a piece from the bottom side of the body right in front of the bumper, but it just might work as a front wing then.... very smart thinking of mister Salven...

Yes, I also realised that Ielasi doesnt look fast alone, but he comes after Dirk...
I think Dirk is too slow for that group

To me, Martin Christensen looks fastest, especially at the end of the straight, and out of the corners. Maybe its the psychological effect that we all know the car is full of light parts..

Yes it look's like Ielasis car is quite stable but today in the practice he was 0.5s of the pace a little bit too much, don't you think ... I hope he finds additional 0.2-0.3s till the final runs ...

Dirk too slow for that group?

He's in fourth place currently and fastest non-Italian. He's also the current Euro B champion

All I talked about is looking/feeling from the camera... I know that Dirk is fast. He also won BumodGP here in our country.

Dirk is not slow and should be up in the top group as he is showing now. That's why I was excited to see that Ielasi was catching him in the practice run. Looks like a rough day though. Did anyone else watch the last qualifing video?? Especially when he's running with Jilles?? I think he's loosing .1-.2 just on the straight.... I wonder if the engine tune was a bit off as it looked really down on power... Hopefully they can get a solid run together tommorow. I'll have to wait on the results Sunday until I get home from the track though.... Full day at Toledo testing is planned for me...

I think the big issue is lack of information (completely new car)! And also he is the only one with this car and no team mates to share set-up information ... No wonder Xray is so good since it has many experienced drivers on the spot sharing info about the car that is on the peak of its development.

Regards

Temperatures peaked out at 40C in the shade yesterday and a lot of people had problems to get or keep their engines running. Only a few of the Max and NR were running well, a lot of engines were cutting out all the time.
On the other hand, Daniele is not known to have the fastest engines anyways. He should probably try an IDM engine

It's great to see how he's been using his WC title to promote his own brand. He's got 3 engines in the field and 1 driver (Sabrina) who's using his tires. He himself is again running Picco and ATS. Great marketing skills

Another strange thing is that Patrick was also registered and didn't show up, without telling anybody. We have plenty of guys who were hoping for a place at the Euros and Patrick's isn't used now.

Has anyone seen his crash in the pitlane? Looked bad. I hope he's got enough parts available.

Stefan,

Can you tell me the difference between IDM and Picco engines as well as IDM and ATS rubber?
