Default HPI RS4 engine choices

I just recently got a HPI RS4 with a blown hpi.15. I wasn't really looking for it or interested in it, but it was offered to me for $25 and I couldn't pass it up. Everything works and its in good shape. The owner told me he wouldn't recomend the hpi .15 since he allways had trouble out of it. I've never had a RS4 so Im not sure what engines will work with it. It does have the 2-speed kit on it, but I could care less if has single speed or 2-speed. I'm going to give this car to my brother to learn with, so power and speed is not a concern. Reliability and price is the biggest thing. I have a NTC3 with an associated .12 and 2-speed and I've never had an issue with it. I was thinking about just about using an associated .12 or .15. Would it work/fit? I know many people would sugest an OS .18, but I would really like something without that much power and a little cheaper. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

do you want a pull start motor?..

if so, you can try this..

the older 15cv is a little cheaper..

just remember...you need a threaded long crankshaft( not a short shaft motor, or on SG-pilot shaft ) motor...and you need something with a rotary style carb...

OR....you can use the HPI engine exchange program and get a new style HPI motor for 65 bucks with an exchange

Pull start is fine with me. Thanks for the info about the shaft length, that was something that I wasn't thinking about.
