Thoughts on the HPI .12R XS
Anybody got any thoughts about or better yet, any experience with this engine?
I was thinking about this as a new engine for when I get a R40, but I haven't heard much about it. -Solid power??? -Good power band??? -Good top speed??? -Easy to tune??? Thanks in advance for any comments... |
So nobody has run one of these or knows anyone who has:confused:

All the mags love it.
I've heard that its an awesome club level engine, but its not up to the top motors at the top level of competition. |
It's a STS engine.
I like STS engines, but they don't seem to be built as well as the Novas |

As you may know I have a Nitro Star .12RSS from my experince with My HPI Engine it is extemely easy to tune It has two needles but I usually only tune one because I am kind of a newbie to nitro engines and my LHS advised me not to tune the lowend needle until I know what I am doing and from What I understand the .12R XS is a 2 needle carborator

Well when I took a look at the .12R XS instructions on HPI's website, it seemed to be a three needle carb. Although they suggest that you not adjust one of them from the factory settings.
