I need a new engine for the Reflex i am building, was gonna go with the Sirio .12TRP, but my LHS can get me a deal on these if i want them. Anyone know anything about either, or own one?

note: although the site says the x12 comes with a rotary carb, it does not, it comes with a slide also.

i can get these engines for 145, and 185, respectivly.

I just purchased a V12 for my MTX-3, but have not run it yet. I also have a RB WS7 II in my MBX-5 that kicks ass. I have always great luck with RB products. Here is a quote from Rody off the RB site:
"The V12 is technically more advanced and we found better performances compared to an X12 engine, however the difference is little."

I recently purchaced the RB V12 for my Big track Car and it seems to perform admirably. Though I wish it had a "Turbo" cut in the crankshaft for a little more Rpm.

In my short track Car I have a Picco XP-12 (with NR Carb) and I do believe that it is more powerfull than my RB. I attribute that to the Carb change.

Both get the same brand and % fuel.

I've been using NR Carbs on my Picco's for YEARS and have never once actually counted turns. I just adjust based on what the Engine is telling me it need.

I don't want to take this thread too far off topic, so if you need some more help shoot me an E-mail or PM.

BTW - whats the diff between the 5port and the 3 port ? are they both legal?

5 port not ROAR legal and 3 port ROAR legal.
The difference is in 5 ports engines are 4 transfers and on buster, on 3 ports engines-2 transfers and one buster. Most of the 5 port engines use turbo plugs and ROAR legal engines are prohibited to use turbo plugs. But on both engines if event is not sanctioned can be used turbo plugs. But need to use proper head botton-turbo plug and regular plug have different thread and sealing

cool - although my club is a lil lienent on ROAR rules, ie - i was able to run my .15CV-R, i dont think they let it slide in the expert class, and i think they are strictly against turbo engines. sounds to me like the choice has been made. RB V12 here i come.

Want to hear something interesting? Last week the plastic fuel inlet on my NV carb broke, and all I had was a spare Picco carb (this is on my Ofna 7-port .12). Since I was just tuning on a parking lot track setup, I threw it on the engine, and figured that it wouldn't work for jack. Was I wrong. Better low-end pickup (venturi is smaller), and the top end was about the same, with running temps in the 230F range on 20% O'Donnell fuel. I heard that the Picco carbs were garbage, but maybe I got a decent one. I dunno, go figure...

Back to the V12... I remember Motorman mentioning that the stock V12 is not up to par with the NS12... What's with that?

Anybody gotten their hands on a Rody tuned V12 yet? How's the performance?
