I think Serpent can find their own source for spring steel but apparently the Hudy ones are unique (or patented material).
Serpent is going back to Hudy for parts but have to wait for Hudy to finish other productlines firts (new 1/8 offroad and others)

Interesting that he used front solid axle. Looking at the setup with 45 degree front sway bar, the rear roll center, softer rear tire, it seems they were looking for rear traction and does not seem they need a lot of off power steering on the track. I may be wrong.

Comments on the engine performance were "Very good Clutch set-up black weights non pivot with 3 holes 2.5mm 1/8 spring with black shoe." That would mean the flyweights mounted in between the flywheel poles, black shoe, the harder Centax II spring. But not too sure what "3 holes 2.5 mm means"... Does it mean 3 holes with 2.5 mm diameter were drilled per flyweight or each flyweight already had a hole (stock flyweight has one 2.5 mm diameter hole to pivot on the flywheel pole if I'm not mistaken)?
The setting sound like the car is extremely understeering, correct me if i am wrong

lightter flyweight give softer acceleration.

Are they racing in a very slipery surface?

Well, perhaps Serpent is always late. I want my 725.

Ahuh... So that's where our Hudy supplies went to. I guess we would have to resort to our next nearest Hudy parts from "Mr. Hudy" (or Mr. FW05R ) to get our supply of "Hudy" stuff wouldn't we?

I believe back in the days when Ralph Burch was racing for Serpent USA, Art Carbonell posted most of his setups...

You're right D - lets march on the Serpent factory and demand new cars be designed!!!! We aren't use to this treatment Even the 950R is getting on for a year old without any mods

Sorry A serious of catastrophies meant it really wasn't worth coming anymore. First my 2106 motor blew-up after it was hit directly on the crankshaft. The crankshaft was bent and the conrod completely destoryed. I ordered some new ones, but uptil now, I've only got the crankshaft - I tested the engine with an old conrod, but this must be replaced before I run again. In the meantime I got a JP engine, which I wanted to run-in before the race. Unfortunately, last week on Thursday, whilst testing my 2106 in the 705, the crystal fell out of the rx unit - the 705 raced across the track and bent the chassis
The crystal that fell out broke and somehow the day before my spare crystal also broke. So at the moment, I have no crystals and only a motor which need breaking in. I simply ran out of time to make the race in time, so I decided it wasn't going to be worth while. I'll will be coming up for a trip soon, when the circuit is a bit quieter - maybe see you then

ROTF !

First time I'm seeing the "angry" side of Julius. Hey Julius, I think he expects you to pick him up via business class.

Hey Mark, you should just make the trip with whatever equipment you have. I'll do that if I were you. Living so close to Holland, I'm pretty jealous. I'm sure you'll get some stuff that you can borrow or some kind soul (like Julius or Rene <ahem>) would be generous enough to donate some stuff to you.
