it is really not as easy as we all tought... Serpent setup book is just simple chart guide on what to do.. but if we do not understand what is really going on, it could mislead you/your setting with a bad results. Hope after reading it, you won`t get more confuse.. as I do

Hey thanks for the info Mark. Perhaps you should print that whol book in PDF?
Sure, no problem

But the question is, do we sometimes go the wrong way with tyre selection, i.e. in when a car is understeering into the corners, it may mean we need to choose a slightly harder tyre to get a better side bite!

Ahah... You are right about that one. I have experienced many times that using softer tires did not increase side bite and the rear end was still wiggling. Perhaps using softer tires does allow the tire itself to flex more than the set camber for additional side bite and thus sometimes it helps. Just guessing here as usual !

Perhaps Julius may want to answer this or has he flown to Rio De Janeiro...

Make sure you are logged in, then go to the product page, cars, Serpent 710.
On this page there is a download link where all the pdf files are.

Cheers, Mark.

Schrijver99 posted this on the last page of pg 153 which you replied to it ! Here it is.

Setup book

Instruction Manual
Reference Guide

One more which is left out is the setup sheet in PDF file. You can change the text in this setup sheet but you cannot save it. The only way is to get a hard copy by printing it out.

Serpent 710 Blank Editable Setup Sheet

p/s: Mark, perhaps you want to add these links in the FAQ.

Maybe we should add a "how-to-set-up-your-phone-so-you-can-read-the-Serpent-PDF-docs" section into the FAQ

Does DRAG BRAKING required on 710 when the throttle is in neutral....? I want to know how many ppl use it and does that really feel better then without one.....thanks

I remembered I did have drag braking on my Impulse PRO...it was too long, and need some update.

Personally, this will depend on the following:

1- your driving style. I don't like it but some people get faster times with drag brakes,

2- one-way or not, you can use drag brakes with diff too but what you want is the fastest lap times,

3- track layout, linked to #2.

My advice... try it out and time yourself against a good benchmark!

Default DRAG BRAKING

Hey Rookie
I think that is a matter of personal preference……………

I would say that on a small tight track some drag brake would be good and on a large flowing track not much needed. IMO
