Nothing to it running the Lola body except that it is awesome and fast. Tips?
Just get a fast outlaw engine,
Use a one-way
Better to use the Loletta shell with the 710 or ..
get the low front shock tower and the Lola bumper.

If you want to use a guerney strip then you need to reverse the mounting of the rear body posts.

Get the setup right and depending on the track you will be keeping up even with the 1/8th cars.

Now what hop-ups or mods do you guys apply to the 710 to make it lighter?
If you are really serious about it .. then here is a go crazy way :-

- all titanium screws
- agree with you, new gear diff
- or the rear ball diff without the Al clamp but with ceramic balls
- run front one-way (locked mode if you have to)
- hollow rear shaft
- Al mid shaft
- No Al hop ups
- use the lightweight Al pulley holders (pulleys themselves are stock)
- Use the Mega engine (7 fins, light head)
- remove the radio box cover
- remove foam bumper
- change out all the Al hex that hold the pivot balls with teflon ones
- use any disc brakes with thousands of holes in it!
- run the smallest dia foam tyres you can
- drill lotsa holes in the chassis
- change the steering links to Ti
- don't use rear ARB if you can
- if not, use Ti links there too and the stock ARB
- Use an OS pipe (T202 I think?)... really light!
- remove the rollover protector (802138)
- use plastic shock bodies
- use only ceramic bearings ... all
- use only one coat, one colour on your body shell
- use 6v camera battery for qualifying (test for the right one!), normal batteries for final
- use Futaba S9550 servos
- use Ti pins for the arms (eg the 802226, replace them. Hunt around the Ti ones for other cars)

Happy?

The record? I've seen my friend's 710 weigh 1450 gms with 59mm foam tyres but without shell.

Now go to work and beat that!

Omg, what a list, should have asked before the winter eh :S
This is great feedback, and 1450 grams? OMG! that's amazing!
- Delrim pivot ball nuts are in already.
- Foam bumber is required (efra rules, but i'll cut something away )
- Mega engine is an option
- Already removed radio box cover
- Already have the lightweight pulleys
- Hallow Ti mid shaft
- Hallow 2speed shaft is comming up, need to deliver it to some handy dandy friend
- Disk brake is around here somewhere

well.. quite a list that i already have.. the TI scres saves 35 grams or so? I'll try does!

Thanks many again!

Nice.. plus VXR lipo 750mah RX battery including its 1amp regulator will take away additional 23grs over standard Nimh bats.

Yes, he even "strastegically" drilled holes in the plastic parts.

Ah, if you are racing to EFRA rules don't go below 1725gms (I think).

For the front you just need the one-way that comes with the kit. You can lock it into a solid. You will need to get the kit (has a o-ring, 2 pins and an Al sleeve).

Yes, my car is 1760 or so, but i'm geting new servo's that are 10 grams more then the ones i have now. That would bring it to 1780....

That's too mutch for my likings, so i want to bring it back to 1750 or something... don't want it to be on the limit because other rims and the one-way make it lighter

I think the delrim pivot ball nuts should save me a few grams, the hallow 2speed will save me 10 grams and the new diff will also save me some... then i'll be looking for the ti-screws to get the rest down, some other ti-parts as well i gues
