Questions?? should team associated make a 1/8 onroad car

well with all the new model's being released by the guy's at area 51 at team associated i was wondering if they would build a 1/8 onroad and maybe a new designed 1/10 nitro touring car ,so what does everyone else think about it maybe they will read this post and see the interest in this and give it some thought .

Nope..1/8th Nitro On road does have that big of a following world wide when compared to 1/10th scale..Their are more than just a few excellent 1/8th scalers on the market right now..Mugen and Kyosho come to mind first..I would like to see an Electric 1/8th scale on road car from Associated..A ground up version would work, with Lipos and Brushless technology improving all the time I think that it would be a great class to race..

Agreed. Team Associated makes some really good electric kits. I think this would be up their alley. And I wouldn't be surprised if they did.

Don't forget about the RC250 and the RC500... Associated was one of the original pioneers for 1/8th scale gas... They did it once... They could do it again...

I would love to try out 1/8th scale gas or electric.

1/8 Electric sounds very good, considering the options available now.

Yes, either nitro or electric!!! I'd be ready to buy, but how long did it take them to do a 4wd buggy?? I'd prfer to buy American based products than overseas.

Would like to see them make a gt type car like the IGT or GTP2/dm1 spec...I think it would be crazy for them to build an electric 1/8 onroad. As mentioned here, there are a bunch of world class 1/8 cars already, why would they build an electric one for a class that doesn't even exist? Would love to see another affordable option for gtp cars though. As long as they don't pull a losi and charge 600+ bucks for a roller. The gtp classes seem to be the only onroad segment growing at all and I think they could help the growth with a good AFFORDABLE kit or rtr or roller. I think that is the main reason it's growing is it is affordable large scale racing. Hope it stays that way, hint hint.

well i agree that there are several well know and well made cars available but have you seen the price O M G i dont want to take out another loan from the bank to buy the car and motor .if assocoated policy follows suit they will build a car for a middle of the scale price range . it will be affordable and have a better parts support than any other company's, and a possible electric class well who knows like the offroad cars it might get some body attention ad take off from there ,there is a youtube video of a 1/8 serpent out now

I think they should build a 1/8 on road car, 1/8 on road is the Formula 1 of RC Doesn't get any better driving one when its hooked up and on song

Thunder Tiger(Team Associated's owners) are not going to build anything that is not going to make them money. On-road gas is not as big a market as anything off-road, and they are doing fine in that area, and they area also doing great with their electric TC5. I see them maybe, maybe, making a gas TC, but an 1/8th scale, I dont think so. Thats just my opinion though, who knows what they are working on.

In times of economic recession companys get real careful about taking risks 1/8 scale is not as poupular as offroad , 1/10 touring , rock crawling so I agree with nitrodude I wish it would happen but don't believe it will.

Default 1/8 scale

Associated was one of the original 1/8 scale on-road companies. The rc250.rc300,rc300bd,rc500,rc500bd were great back in the day. I still have my RC500.

I also think this is more probable. Lower development costs, possibily greater market...

Although I would like to see a competition on-road 1/8 scale from Associated, it would surprise me if they do it!

And of course a nitro sedan would be great! (biggest class where I live )
